Musings on movies, suitable for reading before or after you see them. I write about things I liked WITHOUT SPOILERS. The only thing I hate more than spoilers is reviewers' trashing movies because they think it makes them seem smart. Movie title links are usually links to blog posts. Dexter (Showtime series)
Even before I figured out the producer was a family friend I was hooked on this edgy, violent show, starring the co-star of HBO's Six Feet Under, Michael C. Hall, as Dexter, the serial killer with a code of honor (he kills only bad people--really bad people). It has finished its third season, which included a good turn by Jimmy Smits. Not recommended for bedtime viewing, it can induce nightmares. Beautiful panoramic shots of Miami (good in HD) and spooky music mixed in with salsa tunes enhance your TV experience.
