Musings on movies, suitable for reading before or after you see them. I write WITHOUT SPOILERS. The one thing I hate more than spoilers is reviewers' trashing movies because they think it makes them seem smart. Movie title links are usually links to blog posts. Click here for an alphabetized index of movies on this blog with a count. Note: I do not have a favorite--not even a top ten. Sorry!

About Me

My photo
babette
After achieving an MFA in Film Production I had a short and overlooked career in the movie business before deciding it was too punishing. Now I spend many hours enjoying movies and TV. I am (along with my constant companion Jack) among the few people outside of LA who sit through all the credits. It makes me happy to see my old friends' and acquaintances' names up on the big screen and to occasionally be rewarded with a bonus clip at the end. Since March of 2020, though, we almost always watch at home in order to take advantage of closed captions and the pause button. Spoilers make me mad (thus I read reviews afterwards, not before). PS. I have purposely not added specific details about who and where I am. Please keep it that way if you know me and comment. But do comment! Thanks. You can reach me directly at babetteflix at gmail.
